There are many types of cut resistant gloves on the market. Is the quality of the cut resistant gloves good, which one is not easy to wear, and how to choose to avoid the wrong choice?
Some cut-resistant gloves on the market have the word "CE" printed on the back. Does "CE" mean some kind of certificate of conformity?
The "CE" mark is a safety certification certificate, which is regarded as a passport for manufacturers to open and enter the European market. CE means European unity (European Conformity). Originally CE means the European standard, so besides following the en standard, what norms must the cut-resistant gloves follow?
Protective gloves for preventing mechanical damage mainly comply with the en standard EN 388, the latest version is the 2016 version, and the American standard ANSI/ISEA 105, the latest version is also 2016.
In the two specifications, the expression forms for the cut resistance level are different.
Cut resistant gloves certified by the en standard will have a giant shield pattern with the word "EN 388" on it. There are 4 or 6 digits of data and English letters under the giant shield pattern. If it is 6-digit data and English letters, it indicates that the new EN 388:2016 specification is used, and if it is 4-digit, it indicates that the old 2003 specification is used.
The meanings of the first 4 digits are the same, they are "abrasion resistance", "cut resistance", "resilience", and "puncture resistance". The larger the data, the better the characteristics.
The fifth English letter also indicates "cut resistance", but the test standard is different from that of the second digit, and the method of indicating the cut resistance level is also different, which will be described in detail later.
The sixth English letter indicates "impact resistance", which is also indicated by English letters. But the sixth digit will appear only if the impact test is carried out, and if it is not carried out, there will always be 5 digits.
Although the 2016 version of the en standard has been in use for more than four years, there are still many old versions of gloves on the market. The cut-resistant gloves certified by new and old users are all qualified gloves, but it is more recommended to buy cut-resistant gloves with 6 digits and letters to indicate the characteristics of the glove.
With the advent of a large number of new materials, it is necessary to be able to subtly classify to indicate the cut resistance of gloves. In the new grade classification method, there is no difference between A1-A3 and the original 1-3, but A4-A9 is compared with the original 4-5, and the original two grades are divided into 6 grades, which can be used for gloves. Cut resistance carries out a more detailed level classification expression.
In the ANSI specification, not only the expression form of the level is upgraded, but also the test standard. Originally, the test used the ASTM F1790-05 standard, which allowed testing on TDM-100 equipment (the test standard is called TDM TEST) or CPPT equipment (the test standard is called COUP TEST). Now it uses the ASTM F2992-15 standard, which only allows the use of TDM TEST conducts testing.
✬What is the difference between TDM TEST and COUP TEST?
COUP TEST uses a circular blade with a pressure of 5 Copernicus to turn and cut on the glove material, while TDM TEST uses the knife head to press on the glove material at different pressures, reciprocating at a speed of 2.5 mm/s laser cutting
Although the new en standard EN 388 requires that two test standards, COUP TEST and TDM TEST, can be used, but under COUP TEST, if it is an excellent anti-laser cutting raw material, the circular blade is likely to become blunt. If the laser cuts After 60 laps, it is calculated that the cutter head becomes blunt, and TDM TEST is mandatory.
It must be noted that if this high-performance anti-laser cutting glove has undergone TDM TEST, then "X" can be written on the second digit of the verification pattern. At this time, the cut resistance is only indicated by the fifth English letter .
If it is not for the excellent cut-resistant gloves, then the glove material is unlikely to dull the cutter head of COUP TEST. At this time, TDM TEST can be omitted, and the fifth digit of the verification pattern is indicated by "X".
Raw materials for non-excellent cut-resistant gloves have not been tested for TDM TEST or impact resistance. ↑ Raw material of excellent cut-resistant gloves, TDM TEST has been carried out, COUP TEST and impact resistance test have not been carried out.
